Kirk Herbstreit should have stayed on College Gameday.

He's not wrong but probably shouldn't have said that outloud. LOL

He was good enough, again. Aside from that one Jimmy ball he threw to Diggs. I thought Shanahan was a lot more conservative with the playcalling today than he was the prior two games with Purdy. Most of the chunk passing plays were one read schematic throws. And of course had two 1st down receptions wiped out (holding on McCloud catch and the Aiyuk drop).

The 3rd down run getting the corner was something obviously Jimmy would not have been able to do.

Yeah, these last two games have been more Kyle-like to me. The 37 passes off the bench were a massive outlier. But Brock can execute both.
Kyle's confidence in Brock doesn't change in this game. Pinned at the 1 at the goal line, Kyle called a pass from Purdy. He completed but I think a penalty wiped it out.

The MIA game was close late in the 4th quarter. We passed the ball 18 times in the first half of the bucs game. If we weren't up by such a huge margin going into the second half of that game, we could have easily seen another 18 passes if the game was a lot closer. Brock's ribs could have played a role in the second half of the bucs game as well as the SEA game. Its a small sample size at this point. Lets see how the last 3 games of the regular season and the playoffs go.

He moves so much better than Jimmy. He looks like a slightly slower version of Kyler Murray when he's running the ball.
the real question is.....does he text back kittle's text messages?

If Jimmy was in this game we would have had problems. Jimmy doesn't get that first down scramble and he gets sacked more.

Brock has the mental toughness to win playoff games. This game was a playoffs atmosphere with an opposing team playing for their playoff lives. Brock didn't blink. He's better than Jimmy at this point.
So far Purdy looks poised and mature beyond his years. A great defense and a solid running game can make any QB look good. In my youth I was a gambler and old timers drummed it into my head never give yourself the kiss of death. With that said I'm not going to heap praise on Purdy, I'll just watch.

super impressive goes through reads and decisions like a vet, doesn't get tunnel vision towards a player etc.

He isn't as accurate as Jimmy on those short and medium throws but based on TB game (didn't see it much against Seattle) is more willing to throw it down the field. One thing i have been super impressive is that he doesnt get fazed by the blitz.

its a trade off Brock is more mobile and more willing to throw it deep(not this game but based on Bucs) but i also think Jimmy makes some throws Brock missed (ball placement on short to medium throws could use a bit more work but isnt really awful)
overall it evens out we are getting the same effiency with Brock as we did with Jimmy which was already top 5

You could tell he was banged up, his passes overall weren't super crisp and the velocity just wasn't there…they said he didn't throw a ball all week outside of a pass or two in the hotel the day of.

Big on him for getting out there and beating Seattle in Seattle. His processing is damn good for a 7th rd rookie. His pocket feel is also amazing.

He's got 10 days to feel better, I'm here for the ride to see where this all goes
